Looking at examples such as the United Kingdom of the Netherlands (Benelux) which attempted to gather the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. The Transcaucasian Democratic Federative Republic, which tried to unite Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan. Livonia, or the United Baltic Duchy - which would have gathered Estonia and Latvia in a single country. The potential adherence of Singapore to Malaysia, which ended up being rejected by the latter. Gran Colombia, which at one time joined Venezuela, Colombia proper, Ecuador and even Panama. The famous Kalmar Union, which at one point joined up most of the Nordic world (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Greenland, and part of Finland) into a single entity. Or even the Union of South Africa and Namibia.
