Really excited about this one - Justin and I sat down to talk about why the Axis did not have a long-range strategic bomber force. We chat about the various German and Japanese designs and why they never really mattered (even to the Germans or Japanese). I think it will serve as a great start for discussion with all of you and answer a lot of questions on this issue. Part 1 (yes...you didn't think we'd make this brief, did you?) is coming out soon.

Very happy to read all your great comments and feedback on the recent Hs 123 and (Close) Air Support video. I’ve been taking things slower this August - a dangerous thing to do on YouTube. Thanks for sticking around. Normal video service to resume in mid September - right now I am travelling around absorbing culture. Photographic evidence attached 🤌🤌🤌

Coming to NatGeo 2026 … the airpower ramblings go mainstream. I feel sorry for everyone already 🤭 (Really professional and friendly filming crew btw, a new experience for me but great to be eased into it)

Generally I like it when YouTube supports community interaction. Yet this latest feature is a poor decision…”replies with Ai”…yes, because nothing supports building a healthy and constructive platform as much as impersonal dummy replies. Even for someone like me who doesn’t have the natural impulse to come up with small talk topics, this feels incredibly disingenuous… Thoughts?

I am currently working on two The Luftwaffe at War episodes about Luftwaffe Close Air Support which may prompt some debate. One will be about an outdated aircraft that nonetheless has historical significance (not the Ju 87 or the Fw190 in the picture, I promise...) - sadly, the importance and stories about this plane are often exaggerated. The second is an episode inspired by a question from a supporter about the differences in Luftwaffe fighter-bombers and Bomber operations. As I discuss in the video, such an "obvious question" is much harder to answer than one would assume - because there are numerous differences and similarities with doctrine, operations and tactics once I go into the details. I expect to have them out soon for Patreon and Channel member early access.
