Wishing everyone a happy holiday season! Spend time with your family over the next few days. And try to recharge. Recruiting will be non-existent between now and the beginning of the year, so now is a great time to reflect on your goals. But most importantly, it's a time to be present with your loved ones. Happy holidays. I'll be logging off for a few days myself.

Would you be interested if I offered an "on-demand" career coaching tool with my advice available at your fingertips? I'd answer any career-related question (using AI.). If so, what would you like it to do and how would you use it?

If you've seen my latest video about the Gen Xer who got the MBA, you may already be familiar with Marcial. He reached out to me and expressed his frustration that people, myself included, were misunderstanding him. So I offered him the chance to clarify his side of the story, and here are his exact words: ______________________________________________________________________________ Thank you for giving me an opportunity to clear up a couple of things from your video. The reporter that took my story misinterpreted what I had said. He thought that my priority was to go to school and that any job offers that came my way, I turned down. The reality was that I did not turn down any jobs. I did not get any interviews. Had I been given an opportunity to obtain full time employment during that time, I would have found a way to juggle going to college and work full time. I actually did that while I was going for my Associate’s Degree. I worked at the school for the work study programming, went to school full time, did volunteer work at a local elementary school, and helped my wife at home. I still managed to find time to study, be on the Dean’s list and graduate with the highest honors. Nothing in my life has been easy and I have worked really hard. I focused on degrees instead of certifications because that is what the schools and universities pushed, not certifications. Everyone has a different opinion on spending more money for certifications or even more school. I have way too much student loan debt to even think about more debt for a certification that may or may not help me find a job. I tried to remain current by doing consulting work on my own, but that has not been fruitful. My journey and work experience is real. I am not alone in this situation. Since the article, I have been in touch with many others who can relate to my situation. I have since reached out to the journalist and he will republish the article with that correction. ______________________________________________________________________________________ To help him out, I've given him access to my career strategy course, The Ultimate Career Blueprint, which he hasn't decided to take advantage of (to date). Let's all show him grace and wish him the best as he gets back on his feet.
