It was a good week at Scott Brown Carpentry! All building and filming. But I’m afraid no editing - which means no video 😢 But I did a couple of hard jobs that really needed to be done on the house. Some bracing elements and a stressful floor glue up. I’ve been putting off these jobs for some time. In my mind they had grown into mammoth tasks that I thought about over and over. Now that they are done it really wasn’t that bad! I find that happens a lot in building. Prep and planning is important but sometimes it’s better to just make a start and trust that you have the skills to figure it out. Feeling good! I hope you are doing well too 👍

Scott Brown here, no video this week 🤕 My hand found the edge of some roofing iron. It took 3 stitches and a couple of steri-strips to close it up again but I think I got lucky. No tendons or nerve damage at all 👍 And no, I didn’t get it on camera ☹️ I’m going to rest up this week, but stay tuned for the next exciting episode!

Oil or let the deck fade naturally? Scott Brown here, In our latest episode we closed in the side of our vitex deck. We started this deck a couple of years ago now, so the boards have had a chance to silver off naturally.
