Did you know? Roman Emperor Nero had some extreme 'mommy issues'. After she had supposedly secured the position of Emperor for him, she had significant political influence over Nero in his early years. However, he soon grew tired of her overbearing nature and had her assassinated. Firstly, he attempted to drown her by sending her a ship designed to sink. However, she managed to swim to safety, only to be killed by one of Nero's soldiers soon after. It is said that he witnessed his mother's death without tears or sorrow, then proceeded to have some wine.
