When we set off on our first Balkan road trip in 2021, our Russian Lada Niva, stuck in the '70s both in design and specs, broke down just a few kilometers in due to overheating. A year later, determined to finally reach our dream destination Albania, we gave it another shot. With a few fixes done, we hit the road again, brimming with high hopes - only to quickly realize that the car was going to test us every step of the way. What followed was a journey full of unexpected detours, mechanical headaches, and the kind of stories you only find on the road.
In 2021, our planned road trip to Albania took an unexpected turn when our car broke down after only a few kilometers. Left with limited time for exploration, we borrowed another vehicle and set off on an improvised journey through the former Yugoslavia. Over four weeks, we found ourselves captivated by the charm of Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Montenegro - each country weaving its own unique story into our adventure. As we traversed the Balkans, we discovered not only abandoned places but also the overlooked narratives of its diverse peoples. And so began our "Balkan Detours," a journey fueled by curiosity and a desire to uncover the hidden gems of this enchanting region. Join us in the first season of our biggest adventure so far!
In the shadow world of urban exploration, hidden tales await those who venture beyond the beaten track. Abandoned places harbor echoes of history, but treading these paths involves navigating the delicate balance between curiosity and caution. On another journey to abandoned France, the allure of crumbling structures and what they hold proved irresistible to us. In the second season of Travelers in Time: France, we showcase the explorations of forgotten châteaux and hidden car graveyards. What's your favorite discovery we made on this travel through time?
As urban explorers, we research history that would otherwise just be forgotten. Once alive but empty today, abandoned sites experienced the untold. Back in summer 2021, we set out to explore forgotten structures all over Italy again. This playlist features the third season of the fan-favorite series Abandoned Italy. We travel to remote ghost towns and discover deserted palaces and mansions in our favorite urbex country. Next to our long-time explorer friend Tobi (@tobi_urbex) there is a new face in this season: Sam (@samjeder). He is an Australian journalist who was shooting a video report about us on that trip - on behalf of a big media outlet. In a group of four, we were trying to unveil what these abandoned places are keeping hidden. Join our journey into the ruins!
The clock is not only going in one direction. Time flows backwards, too, and the past can also be our future. Yet, what if this is not just an anomaly, but the current state? On a new journey, we seek to find out. We are touring France to explore a desolate future that already exists today. Long-forgotten time-capsules contain the past, unspoiled and unseen - but they also show what is yet to come. We reveal these hidden worlds and demonstrate that the end is never really the end - it is just the start. Join us in traveling time! We set out on this journey to break the deathloop that dooms us to repeat the past over and over again. Let us do this - together! It is time for a new future to start.
What is life like after people? On our urbex adventure in summer 2020 we wanted to find out! During a two-week urban exploring road trip to Italy, we traveled from North to South and experienced a wide range of abandoned places: From ancient ruins to defunct power plants forgotten long ago, as well as ghost towns where we felt like the last people on earth. Such structures in disrepair are full of stories we preserve in our second season of Abandoned Italy. Join us as we time-travel through Italy's past and explore history as it was, and as it is today. Let's unveil a world that otherwise would remain hidden!
Abandoned Poland: As urban explorers, the former Eastern Bloc is a popular destination for our road trips. During the most golden autumn in 2019, we were targeting Poland as the next country in Eastern Europe we had to explore. So, in a group of five, we set out on a multi-day adventure to find the extremes of urbex: The pristine and decayed, rural and urban, forbidden and legal, and the industrial and palatial. We traveled more than 1,000 km through the country to film spectacular structures with haunting histories. At first light, we were waking up to deserted sights. And by day, we were blending in to successfully infiltrate restricted areas. Join our journey to Poland’s undisclosed landmarks in these videos.
Abandoned Hungary explored: Europe’s restricted zones are our favorite holiday destinations. As dark tourists, this time the thrill of the forbidden was taking us to off-limit parts in and around Hungary. On a five-day road trip in 2019, we camped at secluded areas at night to bring undisclosed locations to light at sunrise. From vehicle graveyards as we have never seen them before to historical power plants protected by security, we have infiltrated some of the most fascinating abandoned sites you can imagine. In this series completely shot in 4k, we’re documenting decay and experience history first-hand in a quality better than ever before.
Abandoned places are everywhere in Italy! It is a paradise for urban explorers. In summer 2018, we visited the country for ten days. Together with Michael and Bryan from The Proper People and the photographer @Tobi_urbex we were heading out to search for the beauty of decay. Countless thorn stings and mosquito bites couldn’t stop us from exploring the most impressive abandoned sites of Italy. Join us on one of our most memorable urbex adventures to date!
Abandoned places in and around Vienna (Austria) - that is what this playlist is all about! In August 2017, we spent a week in Vienna. And together with two local urban explorers we traveled to the coolest abandoned sites around in the country. Gloomy and lonely in the middle of the modern civilization we discovered haunting factories and hospitals with running electricity. In six episodes we show you our adventures in the concrete jungle. Enjoy the videos and keep exploring!
16 most amazing abandoned places: this playlist is about our first major urbex road trip. We did nine days of nonstop urban exploration! In February 2017, we drove 2.700 km in total to explore several abandoned places in four countries. We entered military prohibited zones, went deep underground, and got in trouble with the law - on several occasions. Enjoy the episodes and keep exploring yourself!
