Eric Adams made history by becoming the first sitting New York City mayor to be indicted while in office. His indictment came after a flurry of departures from his administration, and prompted more departures after the Department of Justice later recommended the charges be dropped.
Congestion pricing began in January 2025 in New York. Drivers are charged up to $9 when they enter Manhattan below 60th Street. That includes most of the city's bridges and tunnels. The goal: To reduce traffic and pollution while providing funding for public transportation. But there's debate brewing about how effective the additional costs will be.
