Learn how to make a wrap dress without a pattern in my latest step by step sewing tutorial. It’s made with stretchy fabric so it’s easier to get a great fit than some traditional wrap dress patterns, plus the knit fabric makes it comfortable to wear! CHECK OUT THE SEWING SUPPLIES I USE IN MY VIDEOS HERE: https://www.amazon.com/shop/comicatcr... * ***** MATERIALS NEEDED: -At least 2.5 yards of a medium weight four way stretch knit fabric (I used a little over 2.5 yards of a DTY Knit Fabric, which is a medium weight smooth feeling four way stretch knit; you’ll definitely need more if you want to make a maxi wrap dress or a larger size) -A fitted shirt with sleeves to use as a template -A piece of tracing paper or tissue paper to use to trace the sleeve - I use this tracing paper: https://amzn.to/2IOmXo5 * -Sewing Machine: I use this machine: https://amzn.to/2HcBk3b * -Scissors: I've used these for years: https://amzn.to/2NMnZBl * -Tape Measure -Ball Point Needle: these are the ones I use: https://amzn.to/3ehIgvi * -Pins -Thread: this is the only thread I use: https://amzn.to/2TEiTbr * -Walking foot (optional, see note in video): I use this on my Singer machine: https://amzn.to/2NkhoxP * -Chalk Links with a * denote affiliate links, meaning if you purchase through the link it won't affect your price but I'll get a small commission which is much appreciated to help me make more tutorials! As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. CAMERA I FILM MY TUTORIALS WITH: https://amzn.to/2ItUghF * My favorite place to buy fabrics (they have a great variety of knits and wovens!) is LA Finch Fabrics - www.lafinchfabrics.com . I bought the fabric for this video from a different fabric store a while back, but I pretty much only buy from LA Finch Fabrics now! ***** WHAT YOU’LL LEARN: In this wrap dress sewing tutorial I’ll teach you how to sew a wrap dress using stretch fabric without needing an actual wrap dress pattern. You’ll learn all the steps of cutting and stitching including how to use a shirt you own instead of a wrap dress sewing pattern to cut out the dress pieces; how to make a sleeve pattern using a shirt you own; how to sew all the pieces together; how to hem the raw edges; how to make a stretch fabric binding; how to make the ties; and how to tie a wrap dress. I also give you my tips and tricks for how to sew stretchy fabric so you can sew your knits successfully! ***** MORE SEWING PROJECTS AND VIDEOS: DIY HIGH LOW WRAP DRESS WITH SPAGHETTI STRAPS:    • How to Make a Wrap Dress without a Pa...   HOW TO MAKE A WRAP SKIRT WITHOUT A PATTERN:    • How to Make a Wrap Skirt without a Pa...   SEWING 101: THE SEWING TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT YOU NEED:    • Sewing Basics: The Sewing Tools and E...   BEGINNER SEWING PROJECTS:    • Beginner Sewing Projects: Easy Clothing   SUMMER SEWING PROJECTS:    • Summer Sewing Projects   ***** SOCIAL MEDIA/GET IN TOUCH: Email: comicatcreations@gmail.com Instagram: comicatcreations If you recreate any of my projects email me, tag me or use the hashtag #comicatcreations on Instagram! ***** Thank you so much for watching this tutorial! A wrap dress sewing project has been the most requested video I’ve ever had so I really hope you like it. I’m very happy with the outcome and I think that this dress will be a great wardrobe staple! Wrap dresses are so flattering on so many shapes – the v-neck and waist ties give the illusion of curves on smaller frames and accentuate the waistline on plus size figures, so I think this project will work for a lot of different body types. I break it down and explain all the steps as clear and as easy as possible so you can confidently make your own wrap dress. I think this will be a great tutorial for those of you who have some experience using a sewing machine and have a basic understanding of clothing construction! Thanks for taking the time to watch my tutorial! XO, Monika
