In this video I will show you a super fast and easy way to make a mould of your own face to create a face cast. Materials: Vaseline Plastic wrap Plaster strips Scissors Plaster of paris Sculpting tools Wood glue Thank you for watching :) *EDIT DATE 2025: I think it's important to clarify a few things almost 10 years later because people still use this tutorial Plaster of Paris strips are known to be skin safe under proper usage and conditions. I did an investigation and I have learned that they can occasionally cause burns if the product is activated with warm - hot water. I would reccomend purchasing any plaster of Paris strips from your local drug store in the first aid section instead of an online retailer or craft store and follow all instructions on the packaging. Wood glue is not necessary as a finishing step for most sculpting projects on the face cast, I had misinformation, and eventually the glue chipped off my face cast over time. I did not cast over my eyes because plaster of Paris strips can cause damage to the eyes if contact occurs, and I was afraid of my eyelashes being pulled out. If I was to do this again I would cast much more of my head and neck area as the face cast ended up being awkwardly small. I don't have it anymore because I threw it away in a move a few years ago. But the cast held its condition very well for years and never chipped.
