We disassemble the NZXT Kraken M22 closed-loop liquid cooler ("AIO") to learn more about how the pump-in-radiator design works. The cooler locates its pump in the radiator, which is primarily to bypass legal limitations by Asetek's constrictive patent hold on the industry. Asetek's patent has been enforced in the US, and basically allows them to own the pump-on-block design of closed-loop liquid coolers for computers. This forces manufacturers opting-out of Asetek to find clever bypasses, like mounting the pump in the radiator or in-line in the tubes. Enermax's Liqtech coolers do something similar.
