Instructions for the Project Single Crochet (SC) in the US is referred to as Double Crochet (DC) in the UK. Foundation Chain is 31 chains + 1 turning chain (totaling 32 chains). Put a SC into the 2nd chain from the hook, SC into every foundation chain (totaling 31 single crochet), turn your work, chain 1, put a SC into the last SC on row 1 and in every stitch on row 1, repeat for a total of 34 rows, fasten off your work. Sew in your tails. If you wish to add a single crochet edging, then attach your yarn to any stitch on the last row using a slip stitch, chain 1, single crochet into each stitch on the edge until you reach the corner, put 3 SC into each corner stitch. When you make the turn to the side of the project put 1 SC into each row. Single crochet edging around the project, slip stitch once you reach the first stitch of the border around, and fasten off your work. Sew in your tails.
