The blanket stitch is a wonderful hand sewing technique to learn, as it can be used to great effect as decorative edging on various projects including blankets, dishcloths and fabric ornaments. The usual materials to use blanket stitch on are non-fraying fabrics like felt, fleece and wool. The stitch is best at joining and decorating raw edges. In this lesson, I will show you how to join 2 felt edges together, including how to stitch neatly around a corner. The demo begins at 3:20 in the video.
