The twisted veneer strips (edge banding) give such a nice texture to this piece and were really easy to work with. Adding spray paint to one side gave it a subtle pop of color that we looooooove. It was our first time doing wood art and it was really cool using veneer in a way other than what it was originally intended for. This was also our first time building a frame, and it was a big one! We used 1x2s for the outer frame, and used a bunch of 1x material we had on hand to reinforce it from the back.
