There is WAY too many incarnations and characters in that property for me to research for one cartoon. THAT is why there's no "Shadow" or "Chaos Control" or whatever... But he would have lost either way. For those of you who don't know all the characters in the last scene, the green haired girl is LUM from URUSEI YATSURA and the other guy is LIGHTNING LAD from the LEGION OF SUPER HEROES.
