TRANSCRIPT: Hi. I’m Denise. Thank you for watching my video. Today I’m going to talk about writing lowercase cursive letters. A couple of things to keep in mind when writing the cursive letters is that first of all, we normally slant our letters. So, they do not go straight up and down. They are written in this way. The second thing is that most of the letters have a little taillike piece on the end. That is so that we can connect each letter to the next letter. So you’ll see that as I am writing the letters. Okay? Let’s get started. The lowercase A starts just below the middle line and then it goes up and left and around and back up and straight down. This little piece is the part that will connect to the next letter. So I started below the middle, up and around, straight up and back down. The B starts at the bottom, goes up to the top, makes a loop and comes back down, curves to the middle and then it goes like that. This little piece is the part that will connect to the next letter. The C starts just below the middle, goes up and to the left and around and just goes on. Again, this is just the connecting piece. The D starts just below the middle, goes up and around to the left, and all the way up. Back down and there’s the tail. So again it started below the middle, up and around, all the way up and back down. The E starts at the bottom, goes up to the middle and back down. Okay. That’s the E. F also starts at the bottom, goes all the way up to the top, makes a loop, comes below the line and reaches back up and then has a straight line which will be the connecting piece. So again, we start at the bottom, go up, make a loop, come back down, loop to the bottom and curve up. The G starts just below the middle, goes up and around, straight up, below the line and up. So again, I started below the middle. I went around and back to my starting point, back down below the line to make my loop and like this. Make sure that you’re going the right way with your loop. I do often see students that go the other way with their loop and then it looks like a Q, so please don’t change the direction of the loop. Okay, notice I went, I’ll make that again. You go around, go like this. Now I come straight down, I go to the left to make my loop and then up there. Don’t go to the right. It’s going to look like a different letter. Okay? So straight down, go to the left and make the loop. The H starts at the bottom, goes up to the top, makes a loop and comes down. Go straight up the middle and loop. And we go straight up curving to make a rounded bump. That’s the H. I. Go straight up and back down the line. Then it splits here because it needs to go to the next letter. So straight up and back down. We lift our pen and make the dot. The J starts in the same way. Starts at the bottom and goes up to ...
