Originally released in 1978, City To City was Gerry Rafferty’s second solo album and first release since his departure from Stealers Wheel. The album was a worldwide top 10 hit across theglobe, including #1 in the US, going platinum in the process. For this double vinyl release, City to City has been newly remastered at half-speed by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios, a method used to improve audio quality. The album is masterclass in songwriting, production and musicianship, featuring arguably the most famous saxophone riff of all time with Baker Street, as well as the understated love song, the recent viral hit Right Down The Line. "City to City is the second solo studio album by Scottish singer-songwriter Gerry Rafferty, released on 20 January 1978 by United Artists Records. It was Rafferty's first solo release in six years—and first release of any kind since 1975—due to his tenure in the band Stealers Wheel and subsequent legal proceedings which prevented Rafferty from releasing any new solo recordings for the next three years. The album was well received, peaking at No. 1 in the US and going Platinum, as well as reaching No. 6 in the UK Albums Chart and achieving Gold status. ""Baker Street"", ""Right Down the Line"" and ""Home and Dry"" were successfully released as singles. Gerry Rafferty store / shop."
