Welcome back to my channel. :) Pilots follow a specific procedure in order to obtain 2 good engine starts. In this video, I'll tell you more about the buttons we press and why we press them. The FO announces the engine start and says. STARTING ENGINE NUMBER 2, selects the Engine start switch of engine number 2 to GROUND and presses the clock for the timing. Both the First Officer and Captain verify that the N2 RPM increases. When N1 rotation is seen, the first officer calls N1 and verifies the Oil pressure. When the N2 is at 25%, or if 25% N2 is not possible, at maximum motoring and a minimum of 20% N2, the Captain moves the Engine Start Lever from cutoff to IDLE DETENT. Maximum motoring occurs when N2 acceleration is less than 1% in approximately 5 seconds. Remember that there is so much more technical information to share about this topic.
