► Hello everyone and welcome back to Mystery Scoop. Have you ever heard of a death mask? Well death masks are a replica production of the appearance of a person's face, just moments after they died, and they have been invaluable to posterity as a final viewing of famous people from history. Death masks are typically metal, wax or plaster moulds of a person's face after their death. Being originally in existence since the time of Tutankhamun, the form that we know today, dates back to the Middle Ages. In the age before photography, they were useful in being used as a model for sculptors in creating statues of the deceased person. The King Henry Seventh's death mask, being one of the most famous of such, has helped us visualize his true appearance better, especially with the input of today's technology and the skills of a few individuals in facial reconstruction. Many posthumous statues of Henry VII were supposedly made using his death mask. Let's see some more famous or infamous death masks from our history.
