I am making and fitting valley rafters here at the big build, this is a job I really like and its really easy with a metric framing square. The first job is to establish the angle for the plumb and seat cut, I set this out with my new simplified metric roofing and framing square. Using my fence clamped to the square I set the valley rafter angles and make a small template valley rafter to help with the marking out and defining the final lengths etc Once this was set out and measured I returned to the wood stack and made two extended valleys with a traditional scarf joint to get them to the required length to form the valleys Then I marked the valley out and cut them ready to fit. I also had a stud wall to birds mouth over for support For my 76mm and 102mm hinge jigs click here https://www.robc.co.uk My Amazon store for all kinds of goodies https://www.amazon.co.uk/shop/robincl...
