A curbless shower on concrete is a great commodity for any home, but they do add an extra layer of difficulty than a regular shower does. To be ADA compliant the drain must be recessed into the floor. Ramping up the shower floor and putting a line drain at the door is not a good idea. This video walks you through all the steps we take to recess the pan into the slab. We use a handheld circular saw with a water feed to minimize dust, a chipping hammer and a concrete grinder. It took us 1.5 days to completely recess the slab and pack the pan. The end of the video shows us packing the pan and getting it ready for the waterproofing installation.
